Description:
As a preface...
It was once believed that Necessity was the mother of all invention.
And... that statement was once true.
However, as we slowly integrate technology into even the most basic of daily tasks... Invention has quickly become the mother of necessity; not just on the world stage, but in everyday life.
The surface of this painting then, depicts humanity's (perhaps unrecognized) acquiescent journey backward, in regression, presented as a reverse mirror image of Darwin's evolutionary model.
However, the subject is ultimately the human spirit... which suffers the consequences. And, you don't have to look very far to see the evidence of this, in the growing prevalence of anxiety, depression, feelings of isolation, fear, anger, hate, violence, and the list goes on...
Of course, I'm not suggesting (in the slightest) that progress is a bad thing.
However, as collective consciousness... we certainly don't ask enough questions, before accepting what is.
