Description:
Thankfully, the story here is simple... at least as I know it, as someone else's story.
The Absent Bride is a recreation of an old photograph I found and purchased at an antique shop, which is something I'd never done before, and have never done since.
Although, for some reason... I was compelled to bring this photo home... perhaps because the woman's face (in the actual photo) was indiscernable and not only seemed sad to me, but also made me wonder if there was indeed something to tell (which was all my imagination needed to spring into action) .
Anyway. I'll never know how this photo ended up in an antique store in Lubbock, Texas. But, I like to think that IF the bride somehow felt unseen then (as the image is felt)... I certainly hope she at least feels noticed and appreciated now.
