Playing with Fire
1994

Medium:
Oil on Canvas
Dimensions:
24 x 36 inches
Genre/Style:
Surrealism
Description:
This loosely rendered painting was an attempt at allegory and is a depiction of a couple haphazardly tempting fate, presuming that their union is so wonderfully strong that no temptation is too great to complicate or break.
In most cases... we know where this story ends.
However, the real question that this piece raises is why so many of us find compromising situations so appealing, and worth any risk; especially in instances such as this... when, and IF... the love we hold so dear is truly so important to us.
Love is supposed to be something we provide for our partners, after all, not just a feeling... which is purely self-serving.
