Description:

Having finally developed a growing comfort with oil paints, Illuminated was an inspired portrayal of myself, feeling invincible (or more accurately, feeling dramatically undaunted) by the uncertainty of a creative pursuit.

However, because I hated seeing that pompous look on my face (eek!) and, because I believe that being afraid and still immersing yourself is where real courage is found, this painting was later edited and renamed, Subduing the Fire.
