Description:
In this moment, there was really only paint, and a new substrate to play with, Felt. And, anyone who has experimented with paint, for any reasonable length of time, will understand what I mean when saying that the substrate influences application, and therefore, outcome.
So, in all fairness to this oddity in my oeuvre, it was only right to consider what this felt surface truly represented; a return to basics.
And, by following this train of thought, the breadcrumbs ultimately led me to conclude...
what is more fundamental than fire, which reminds us that we are sentient (able to perceive and feel) and death, which reminds us that we are also ephemeral (only here on Earth for a short period of time).
So, if there is a story and/or a moral here, I think it would be to seize the day, because life is too short.
