Now enlarged, by popular request... the Balloon is a mysterious drawing that seems to raise more questions than it answers. It depicts a surrealistic female figure who appears to be offering someone (we can't see) a balloon, without any further context or clues.
 
So, is the balloon purely a diversion, to conceal something else that is hidden?
 
I honestly don't know, because of the process that is Automatism; and, because of how long ago this piece was created. So, the story it tells is honestly as much yours as it is mine, and there is no right or wrong way of interpreting this piece, which is part of what makes this style of work so interesting.
