Tortured Landscape

Description:

As I was beginning to embrace the creative freedom found in Automatic Drawing, Tortured Landscape was certainly one of my most visually intense (and aggressive) pieces... for which no honest explanation can be offered.

However, the thing I do find interesting about this drawing is that it's dark and gloomy undertones may be at least partially attributed to the heavy, hardcore music I was exploring at the time; perhaps in an attempt to understand new and uncomfortable emotions I was not accustomed to feeling (with the reality of life after highschool now looming).
